  1. I'm not a Chinese and can't read the Chinese character. Can we translate how to say the character in ABC words? Like; Translate " How are you" , there in a " Chinese character" and with "Ni hao" .

  2. You're allowing any idiot to post here, and the translations are just plain WRONG.

Everyone knows that "I love you" in French is "Je t'aime".

    WRONG (AND IT'S POSTED):
    i love you so much
    EnglishJe't aim
    Translation page views: 2
    Translated by nmdnovilla
i love you so much means Je't aim in French.

  10. Awesome! But there should be a mini option to submit plurals of a noun. Like in German, there are almost 5 different plural endings.

  12. I'm from Texas and I love this site. It's fun to text my boyfriend in different languages. It makes him have to look it up to see what I'm saying, lol.

Thanks for creating this website for those of us who like to play..

  13. can i hear how the words are pronounced on audio?

  14. Hey please check those Afrikaans translations. Cause they are WRONG!!!!
"saya sangat mencintaimu" doesn't even have any remotely Afrikaans word in it, yet alone mean I love you so much... i love you so much in Afrikaans is "Ek het jou so baie lief."

  15. geat job!! cool site!! =)

My suggestion is to modify somthing on the main web page site so that if someone chooses a language the selection is kept so that the user doesn't have to rechoose again the same language to continue with other words. (now the selection retuns to "all" instead of remaining on the language that has been choosen).

In the meanwhile if someone has to continue with the same language he can add in the address bar (http://www.howtosayin.com/say/) and language choosen example: english, (http://www.howtosayin.com/say/english/), he can add the words separated from the "+" sign and ended with the ".html" and press enter :)

    translates well:

    "hello how are you"

That's my tip ;D ciao, Marco

  17. Not to be a Grammar Nazi, but I wanted to know how to say "You're welcome", in a few languages, which means you are welcome...but the results were "your welcome" like the "welcome" belongs to someone? Really. REALLY. My grammar isn't the best but at least I know the difference between "your" and "you are".

  18. There should be an option so we can change a wrong translation. There are a lot of them in Greek as I see and we have to write new one every time.

  19. I absolutely love this, too bad I can't hear how the words are to be said correctly. I absolutely love this. I'm of German descent and to me the language of Germany is dying in our family. I'd love to learn it as much as I can for as long as I can.

  21. I think the main site could be a little better ,but other than that I think this site is pretty cool. I hope all the languages are right because I don't want to say anything stupid to somebody.

    ReplyDelete
  22. first, it is really helpfull web for every one i would like to suggest if you can support the web site with audio option. it will help us to save the words fastly.

    thanks and regards,

  23. I agree with the anonymous user that stated that any idiot can post wrong translations here. The thumbs up or down is something, but I notice that both good and bad translations get thumbs down, just like both good and bad translations get thumbs up. Maybe you can add the option to comment on the translations and to mark them as wrong/spam/nonsense.

    ReplyDelete
  24. ps. Now that I submitted a translation I see that all phrases standard get one like and one dislike. That doesn't really make sense to me... Anyway I still think it's a good idea to add a button to report bad translations/abuse.
    Regards

  25. pps. I have another suggestion. I think people should be able to request translations of a certain sentence into a certain language so that the people who speak that language know what to translate...

    ReplyDelete
  26. Thank you for your great feedback, very nice ideas came up here.

I will add the write comment feature, so that the bad translations can be spotted.

I also check translations everyday and delete the wrong ones.

"request translations of a certain sentence into a certain language" is a very good idea, i will add it soon

    thank you.

  28. I am learning to speak German the informal way. So it will be helpful if your site can translate the formal German into daily use German. Also please check why is it always shows message "Sorry, cannot translate now.
Please check back later." Is something wrong with the website?

  29. Hy. I have been having problems with the site for about a month now. I can`t use it anymore because I have the message: "Sorry, cannot translate now.
Please check back later." What`s wrong with the site? Will it be fixed?

  30. This error message is beacuse of Google translation api over quoteo limit.
I am sorry but i cannot do anything about it, its better to try another time i am sorry.

    ReplyDelete
  31. You should be able to correct the posts of others,
and have lists of sentences that will show up on google so that someone can type "[sentence] [language]" into google and the translation would show up

    would be very helpful
also, add a like/dislike or vote up/down to pick the best translations, the ones that show up on google

  32. arabic should be written in both arabic letters and computer jargon
    eg.
hello how are you / hi how are you
    مرحبا كيف حالك
marhaba keif halak / keif halek

  33. After logging on, I have received this message:

    Sorry, cannot translate now.
Please check back later. several times.

Did I include some forbidden words in what I was asking to translate?

    Thanks, love the site!

  34. Hi,

I'm sorry for this, but it is the Google Translate api limit, after translate limit exceeded we get this message. Nothing i can do sorry.

  35. The Fiji Hindi language is different from the hindi spoken in Indai..And apparently there is NO allowance for this..SO perhaps this is the case with some translations being different..
ALSO there is the GUJARATI version of Hindi and there is NO way to add translations in this blog..
OR for other Pacifica Island languages like NZ Maori / Cook Island Maori or Samoan or Fijian or Tuvaluan..
So am wondering if the creator of the blog witll make additions..(IMHO)
    cheers !!

  36. also...

  37. Great place I stumbled upon accidentally. However, "name" is "név" in Hungarian, srmroadsuresh does not know Hungarian for sure or he simply lies/fools you! Keep up the good work!

  38. If nothing can be done about the google api limit, then how are we ever supposed to use the site? I don't get what the quota is for. Do you have to buy space, or something? I used to love this site, and all of a sudden, NOW it's over the quota??

    ReplyDelete
  39. Daily limit is 1.500.000 letters, and this site uses all of this, after then it stops working sorry,
and i also pay 30$ daily.

  40. I've just registered in this site because I saw your translation of the phrase I love you into Portuguese. As I am Portuguese I am really sad, almost angry, as you've translated it into Spanish not into Portuguese. It seems to me that you think Portuguese is included, maybe in the Spanish language. No. They are two different languages. Te quiero mucho is Spanish. In Portuguese we say Eu amo-te muito ou Gosto muito de ti. I hope you correct such a serious mistake. Thank you so much.

    1. You can see that users can add their translations into the site. So sometimes they make mistakes. You can add the correct ones.
      For example:

  41. As a native Swede I wonder if you don't have a single Swede translating for you? On random I went in at "Let's get drunk" and saw the translation "låter bli full". Besided being grammatically horrible, the verb "låta bli" means to avoid, so it's kind of the opposite what you intended. Besides we usually would use the verb "supa" meaning "drinking heavily" rather than just say "get drunk". You can say "Låt oss supa" meaning "let's drink" (purposefully!) or if you want you can even add "Låt oss supa oss fulla" meaning "let's drink to get drunk".

  42. Can you please add Hebrew to your site. Thank you very much!

  43. Love in Afrikaans is NOT "k ho maya"! Depending on how it is used, love is "lief" or "liefde"

I love you > Ek het jou lief.

What is love? > Wat is liefde?
